Russian Hatch is different from other vegetable-tanned leathers. The technique, practised in Russia for generations before the 1918 revolution, involves the addition of a layer of birch oil to the underside of the leather to act as a preservative.

Our watchmakers applied themselves to master the craft of heat tempering steel. The hands are individually polished, and then carefully tempered to create an even and consistent ‘straw’ finish.

Inspired by cartographic maps of the Highlands, the numerals and indices on the Model 1 informed the wider concept of the watch, from the case to the indices and hands.

Our enamel dials are between two and three times the thickness of a standard painted brass watch dial. At only 11mm in depth, we've designed the case to showcase and protect the dial whilst fitting comfortably under a cuff.

The solid case back allows us to offer bespoke case engraving. Simply select the case engraving option and choose from either textual or topographical personalisation.
